One Burnt-Out Shed, 2009

One Burnt-Out Shed, 2009
Two-Channel Synced Video Projections (9:36mins) w/ Stereo Sound
Monitor (2min looped video) + Burnt Scrap Wood
Variable Dimensions

The viewer enters the gallery space through a boarded up storefront. Upon entry, the smell of burnt wood greets the audience. Two large-scale, synced video projections display an experimental narrative about reforming, reclaiming, and redeeming what is small, everyday and unremarkable. Images of a young woman applying a crude mud-mask are combined with textural images of a an old, burnt shed.
